John May

John Henry May, 94, of Bayonne, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018. He was the beloved son of the late Michael & Ellen May; the loving brother of the late Patrick May and Agnes and Jack Huebner; and dear cousin of Maryann (Frank) Pratte, Kathleen (Warren) Downie, the late Patricia (Richard) Mayer and Paula (Robert) Magarban. John was a member of St. Michael's World Apostolate and the Men of the Roses in Flushing Meadow Park, where he headed the Bayonne Contingent. John worked as a shipper at Best Foods where he retired after 40 years. John served in the Army during WWII and worked on the construction of the PT boats in Bayonne. John played local baseball for many years and was always an avid old movie fan. The family will gather on Monday, July 30 at 8:30AM at the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne NJ 07002, after which a Funeral Mass will be said at 9:30AM at St. Henry's R.C. Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends will be received Sunday, July 29, between 3 and 5PM.
