John Peter Kruger

Kruger, John (“Jack”) Peter, 95, Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Patricia "Pat" (nee Clark) Kruger, loving father of Laurie Altomare & her husband Anthony, John Kruger, Jr. & his wife Anides, Thomas Kruger & his wife Linda and Scott Kruger & his wife Elena, cherished grandfather of Thomas John Kruger & his wife Erin, Danielle Kruger, Brittany Kruger & her fiance Connor Hoagland, Matthew Kruger, Kathleen Altomare and Isabella Kruger, adored great-grandfather of Lane Kruger, and dear brother of the late Margaret Cattaneo. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, a member of the Greatest Generation, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy at age 18 and was decorated for serving his country during World War II in the European, Pacific, and Mediterranean theaters of war, most notably participating in the largest amphibious invasion in military history on D-Day. After the war, Jack married his wife, Pat, in 1954 and spent his entire working career in the aerospace defense industry, retiring from Bendix Corp. in 1987. Already a well-traveled sailor, Jack rediscovered this passion in retirement and traveled extensively with Pat throughout the United States and across Europe. He loved his six grandchildren more than anything and could always be found behind a camera ready to capture their best moments. Services are private and under the direction of the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst.
