Joseph Altomare

Joseph Altomare,passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 18, 1933 where he grew up, later living in Lyndhurst, New Jersey for 63 years. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Joanne (nee Hughes) and his loving children Valerie and Joseph, and grandchildren Christopher and Gina, an older brother Salvatore and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joseph had a heart of gold and was a gentleman. He was kind, caring and thoughtful. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was married to the love of his life for 67 years. Joseph was retired from Brinks. He liked to go fishing and was a avid fan of the Yankees and Giants. Funeral Thursday 9:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10:30AM St. Rocco's Church, 42nd Street & Kennedy Blvd, Union City. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Friends will be received Wednesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joseph's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
