Joseph J Horyd

Horyd, Joseph J., of Lyndhurst, NJ on July 17, 2005. Beloved husband of Theresa Horyd (nee Grabowski). Loving father of Carol Wisniewski, Joseph Horyd, Lorraine Henzel and Lawrence Horyd. Cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of four. Mr. Horyd was a resident of Lyndhurst for 51 years having previously lived in Jersey City. He served with the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Horyd was employed as a tractor trailer driver with Maisland Brothers Trucking in Kearny for 32 years before retiring in 1981. He was a member of Teamster Local #560 of Union City, St. Michael's Leisure Club, Polish American Club, Holy Name Society of St. Michael's, American Legion Post #139 of Lyndhurst and VFW #10184 of Parsippany. Funeral Wednesday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM at St. Michael's RC Church, Lyndhurst. Entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Donations may be made in his name to the American Legion Post #139, 217 Webster Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071. Attn: Rehabilitation Committee.
