Salata, Joseph, of Clifton, NJ formerly of Lyndhurst, on Sunday, January 30, 2005. Beloved husband of Antoinette DeFrino-Salata (nee Varliese) and the late Cecelia Salata (nee Ahlborn). Loving father of Joseph Salata, Judith Schmitt and step-father of Michael DeFrino, Linda DeFrino, Annette Gardella and Ruth O'Donnell. Dear brother of Stephen Salata. Adored grandfather of five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Salata had lived in Lyndhurst for most of his life before moving to Clifton four years ago. He was a self-employed carpenter for 50 years before retiring in 1990. He had served as a merchant marine during World War II. Funeral Wednesday 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church. Entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Joseph Salata.
