Joseph V. Egan

Joseph V. Egan, age 79, of Montville, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 after a stubborn battle with heart and lung disease. Born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Anna Lisa & William Egan, he moved with his family to Paterson, NJ while in the eighth grade, where he met his future wife. He lived in Haledon and Paterson before moving to Montville in 1995. In addition to his devoted wife of 57 years, Amelia (nee Yannarelli), Joe is survived by his daughters Joanne Egan & her husband James Brindley of Totowa, NJ and Linda Sabadic of Kitty Hawk, NC, son Brian Egan & his wife Cindy of Fairfield, NJ, sister Gladys Rizio of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren, Christen, Emily,Joe & Thomas Egan, Mikey & Lisa Sabadic and great-grandson Brody. Joe was the brother-in-law of Albert, Karen, Gail & Cy Yannarelli. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Harvey Egan & his wife Gloria, and brother-in-law Raymond Rizio. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Hamilton Club in Paterson and served on the Paterson Parking Authority. Prior to retirement Joe was employed in the insurance industry as a owner, executive and consultant for several companies. He co-founded WilGard Administrators, Capital Marketing, Capital Administrators and BeneCard Services. His hobbies included photography and watercolor painting. Joe was a parishioner of St. Pius X R.C. Church in Montville, NJ. Memorial Mass Saturday, November 18, 10AM St. Pius X R.C. Church. Friends will be received Friday 2-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift to St. Pius X R.C.
