Josephine C. Troescher

Troescher, Josephine C., a wonderful aunt, great aunt and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of August 12, 2012 at the age of 106. Having been blessed with such a long life, our Lord has opened his loving and caring arms and embraced Josie gently with a tender welcome into eternal life. She left this world as she lived her life, with dignity and grace. Josie was born in Jersey City, NJ, and lived in North Bergen and Lyndhurst prior to moving to St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Cedar Grove, where she resided since 2007. Her family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the many wonderful aides, nurses, and the entire staff of St. Vincent's as well as the Hospice caregivers who provided Josie with such loving care, support and kindness. Everybody knew her name! Josie's first and only job was with Western Electric in New York City. She was the only woman supervisor and retired in 1965 at the age of 60 after 42 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, reading and caring for her family. Josie was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amore Chapter No. 176, as well as the Outlook Pioneers. She has joined her parents, Charles and Clara (nee Durre) Troescher, sister Adele, brother Frank and nephew William C. Troescher. She is survived by her nephew's wife Arlene Troescher, as well as her grand nieces, Karen Rondi, Christine Walker, Kathleen Arnold and grand nephews William, John and Thomas Troescher and 12 great grand nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday from 3-7PM. Cremation Private.
