Josephine Nigri

Josephine Nigri (nee Buonomo), 91, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Josephine, affectionately known as Josie, was born on August 13, 1924 to Carlo & Rose Buonomo. She graduated from Hoboken High School and was employed as a secretary. In 1951 she wed Michael P. Nigri and together they made a happy home, first in Hoboken, then Weehawken, and finally in Lyndhurst. Josie devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, cook for her family, and babysit all the children in her family. She is survived by her children Rosanne & her husband Robert Emery, Anthony & his wife Catherine Nigri, and Patricia & her husband Edward Raimo. She was the cherished "Nan" of Jeff, Laura, Michelle, Kristen, Michael & Edward and the adored "Big Nan" of John Michael, Lindsey, Dean, James, Brielle, Scarlett & Grace. Aunt Josie was loved dearly by her many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael in 1984. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Service Friday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM St. Michael's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
