Kevin Hunter (McConomy), June 2, 1939-April 10, 2015. Born in Montreal to the late Anne Carroll and John (Jake) McConomy, Kevin died suddenly on April 10 in North Caldwell, NJ. Kevin is survived by his wife Marie (McErlean) and his children, Daniel, Sandra (Axelrod), Cameron (Mac) and Kevin Casey; as well as his grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He will be missed by his brothers Richard and David, their spouses, Pierrett Sevigny and Candace Clark, and their families as well as his "honorary brother" Paul Milo. He began his music career when he was six years old as a singer with "Little Players of the Air", a group who had an hourly weekly program on CJAD radio in Montreal. He went on to be an award-winning writer and producer. He was a pioneer in Quebec Rock and Roll and had a long and successful career in artist management for such stars as Natalie Cole; Tony Bennett and Cyd Charise; the Bells and Peter, Paul and Mary. He was instrumental in bringing the Beatles to Montreal in 1966. As a young man, he was a talented athlete at Loyola of Montreal and Catholic High School. He had lifelong passion for hockey, and in addition to being a gifted goaler, he was fervently devoted to the Montreal Canadians (and later the New Jersey Devils) as well as any team that his sons were playing for. Generous and kind, Kevin spread love, affection and encouragement to all around him. It is hard to imagine a world without Kevin in it. Memorial Service Saturday 12-4 PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield.
