Laura C. Sableski (nee Osenkowski), 95, entered peacefully into eternal life on October 27, 2008. Born in Newark, she resided in Lyndhurst for the last 85 years. Laura was employed by the Labor Department's Unemployment Division before retiring once she became a grandmother in 1976. She was a loyal parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Lyndhurst and an active member of their Senior Citizen's Club and Rosarian's Society. Laura married the love of her life, Adam Sableski, in 1938 and welcomed their daughter Carol White. She coveted her role as devoted wife and mother and wholeheartedly embraced the title of "Babchi" with subsequent additions to her immediate family. Laura was well respected amongst her peers and enjoyed partaking in nearly every event that was hosted by her church, as it afforded her the opportunity to maintain long standing friendships while establishing new ones. When not attending communal or religious functions, nothing brought Laura more joy than solidifying familial bonds. Laura enjoyed cooking authentic polish cuisine, baking her now infamous chocolate chip cookies, reading the local newspaper, playing gin rummy, traveling extensively and relaying stories from her youth. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Adam Sableski, her father Michael Osenlowski, her mother Mary Osenlowski, and her sister Alice Gutkowski. She is survived by her daughter Carol White, her grandchildren Timothy and Lauren White, her sister Jean Sableski and a bevy of nieces and nephews, all who adored her immensely.
