Leonard R. Centonze, Jr. of Fairfield, New Jersey passed away on Thursday September 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Carolyn (nee DeVirgilio) Centonze. Loving father of Lynn Centonze (Anne Lonergan) and Denise Centonze DAgosto. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Michele, and Nicholas. Adored great-grandfather of Giannah and Brianna. Dear brother of Albert and Johnny, and the late Joseph Centonze. “Lenny” was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and was immensely proud of his Italian heritage. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served during the Korean War. Lenny and his wife were founding parishioners of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield, NJ. He was a dedicated steward of the Church and served as an usher for several decades. Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday 9AM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St.Thomas More Church, Tuesday at 10AM. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlantic Health Hospice or St Judes Children Hospital
