Lester H. Ghent, Jr., 88, of Fort Lee on December 27, 2017. Devoted father of Lynn M. Borner and Therese Ann Guenther loving father-in-law of Jeffrey M. Guenther and Donald W. Borner. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth L. Guenther and Hunter Ghent Borner. Lester was predeceased by his beloved daughter Therese and his adoring parents Lester H. Ghent, Sr. and May (Mickel) Ghent. Ghent, Jr. Plumbing and Heating and later working for George Schaaf Plumbing and Heating. Lester was also a volunteer firefighter with the Fort Lee Fire Department Engine Company #1 for 60 years and served as Fire Chief in 1967 like his father and grandfather. Lester was a man who loved life and would help any person in need, day or night. Lester loved celebrating Christmas and was Santa for his fire house's children's Christmas party for over thirty years. In later years he took many magnificent trips with his daughter Therese and her family, including a cruise to Alaska and trips to Disney World. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter play basketball and grandson play soccer. He was most proud of his granddaughter Elizabeth's academic achievement in receiving her PhD, as well as when his grandson Hunter joined the fire department.
