Lillian Jane Pierce

Lillian Jane Pierce, 87, died on December 15, 2018, surrounded by her children and many of her grandchildren. Her friends and loved ones called her "Janie", but her favorite names were, Momma and Grammie. Janie was born in Altimont, NY on December 17, 1930. In her early teens she moved to Caldwell, NJ. She married the man of her dreams, Charles Ellis Pierce in July 1947 and together they had 8 children. Janie was one of a kind. She loved life and her laugh was contagious. Even in the saddest moments, her laugh would bring a smile to everyone in the room. Her life was characterized by loving service, especially to her family. She loved her children more than anything and she was delighted by her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She lived an incredible life of love, giving and exemplifying the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Pierce was predeceased by her husband, Charles Ellis Pierce and her son, Thomas Ellsworth Pierce. She is survived by her children; Charlie & Nitza Pierce, Jane Ann & Joseph Clement, Mark & Jane Pierce, Joane & Mike Rainville, June & David Lacy, Todd and Kathy Pierce, Jill and Fred Bingler; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, NJ, on Thursday, December 20, from 4-8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 21, at Bethany Church, 451 Ringwood Avenue, Wanaque, NJ. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Horseneck Road, Fairfield, NJ, immediately following the service.
