Lucy M. Marrone
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lucy Marie Marrone, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 99. Born 1925, in Newark, NJ, Lucy was a lifelong resident of the Garden State, having made Bloomfield her home for over 6 decades, and most recently residing in Fairfield, NJ.
Lucy dedicated her life to the beautiful family she and her late husband Samuel created. She raised five children: Vincent, John, Kathy & her husband Joseph, & the late Joseph and Samuel who cherished the love and lessons she imparted. In addition to her children, Lucy is survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A proud working mother, Lucy broke barriers during a time when few women held positions in their work force while raising their children. She was a Pharaceutical Operator and her career was a testament to her determination and resilience, qualities that she instilled in her family. She was predeceased by her siblings Joseph & Carmela.
An avid walker throughout her life, Lucy continued to enjoy her daily walks, even traveling on foot to get her hair done until she was 95 years old. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life were infectious, inspiring those around her to appreciate the simple joys that life offers.
As we remember Lucy Marie Marrone, we honor her extraordinary legacy of love, strength, and dedication. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lucy's life will be celebrated with a visitation Monday 3-7PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Farfield. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10AM St. Thomas More Church. Interment Glendale Cemetery.
