Luis A. Zayas

Luis A. Zayas 81, passed away on February 17, 2019 with his two daughters by his side. Luis was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on January 18, 1938. An accomplished entrepreneur (La Moda Furniture store). Devoted community leader and very proud to have been a founding sponsor of the Liga Roberto Clemente de Newark, NJ (Little League). He is a Veteran of the Army of the United States serving 1956-58. He loved to sing traditional Spanish folk music.
Loving father of Yvonne Martin (Kevin) and Diana Litman (Barry). Adored grandfather of Hanna Litman, Isabel Litman, and Emily Neumann. He much loved his nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Carlos, Gilberto, Gladys, Ana Hilda, Rufina, Ana Iris, and Zoraida . Predeceased by his parents Carlos and Cristina Zayas, brothers Pedro & Francisco and his sisters Maria & Julia. Funeral Wednesday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Lyndhurst. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8 PM.
