Lynn (nee Smith) Fotiadis, 77, of Wanaque, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family.
She was born in New York City on July 1, 1945 to the late Lillian (nee Moroney) and Vincent DePaul Smith and spent her childhood years growing up in the now popular Hells Kitchen neighborhood. She loved to share vivid stories about her childhood especially about her catholic school upbringing, playing in the streets with the neighborhood kids and caring for her younger siblings as a child herself. She often reflected on those experiences which inspired her to create a “better life” for her own family. She proudly graduated from St. Alphonsus High School - earning many awards in History and English; and began her career working on Wall Street while she was still in school. She married Charles Fotiadis, from the same neighborhood, on August 21, 1965 and they began their life together in New Jersey.
Lynn was a dedicated mother - never missing a track meet, school concert or band competition. Before retiring in 2000, Lynn was the Executive Assistant to the President of Chilton Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. In her spare time, Lynn loved to shop with her daughters and loved to spoil her grandchildren, especially at Christmas. She enjoyed spending time at the Wanaque Reserve playing Canasta and Mahjong. She was fascinated by her ancestry and researched her heritage during her trip to Ireland (prior to the advent of Ancestry.com). She was an avid reader, loved to watch the classic films and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City where she would cautiously gamble at the penny slots.
Lynn was the beloved wife of the late Charles Fotiadis and is survived by her daughter Christine & her husband Bruce Scrivo and her daughter Elaine Fotiadis; as well as her five grandchildren: Nicholas, Jonathan, Tyler, Emma, and Abigail. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses - Vincent & Patricia Smith, Rosana & William Ferrick, and Diane Smith as well as large extended family of nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Patricia & Eugene Skrzyniarz.
