Margaret D'Alessio

D'Alessio, Margaret (nee D'Arcy), 95, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away at home with her family on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Beloved mother of Harold & his wife Jeannette (nee DeAngelo) Smith, Holly (nee Smith) & her husband Walter Dyson, and the late William Jeffrey. Loving mother-in-law of Ellen (nee Current) Smith. Cherished grandmother of Scott &Todd Morrissey, Jennifer Smith, Julie Alia, and Sean & Bryan Callahan. Adored great-grandmother of Ryan, Ashley & David Smith, Justin, Matthew & Grayson Ciaccio-Morrissey, and Nicholas & Peyton Alia. Dear sister of the late James and William D'Arcy. She is also survived by many D'Arcy and D'Alessio nieces & nephews. Margaret was married to Air Force Capt. Harold G. Smith who passed in 1953, after his death she and her 3 children lived in Rutherford, NJ. After 17 years she married Michael D' Alessio. Margaret was employed by the United States Postal Service in Hackensack for 10 years before retiring in 1976. After her and Michael's retirement from the postal service they built home on 60 acres by hand in Bainbridge/Sydney, NY. They moved to Delaware 10 years later, and she was widowed again in 1993. Funeral Wednesday 10:30AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hackensack.
