Maria "Rae" Lindsay, 83, of Warwick, New York. Rae Lindsay was a successful writer and publisher for over 50 years. She was an author of over 25 published books ranging from politics to health and cooking. Proudly independent, she lived as a widow in Englewood Cliffs for 40 years and raised 3 children on her own, and did it well. She later resided at Warwick Grove, Warwick, NY, where she made many friends and loved joining in the Bocce games. Rae was an excellent cook with many original recipes and won "best amateur chef in NJ" in 1977 from the Bergen Record. She cherished her summers at Yankee Lake, NY with her cousins. She loved her winters in Key West. She was a proud Wellesley College graduate, who was smart, strong, outspoken and lived her life the way she wanted to. She was exceptionally close to her sons, Alex and Robert and her beloved daughter-in-law Filomena. Her final joy was the birth of her only grandchild, Brielle Giovanna. Brielle was her reason to fight on these last 3 years. A classy, educated woman who ALWAYS held it all together even though she had very difficult circumstances. She will be missed. Graveside service Friday 11AM at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Arrangements under the direction of Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee.
