Marie Anania

Marie Anthonetta Rose Anania, 90, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, March 8, 2023. Marie was born in Hackensack, New Jersey May 16, 1932, to Frank and Bertha (Crivine) Anania. Her dad died when she was 15 years old. She is survived by her niece Lorraine Eckert and her nephew Arthur Gaeta, Jr. Marie was a person of strong spiritual faith, and had a rich, full life. She was always gracious and sensitive, seeking to be a blessing to others. She was a resident of Evergreen Court at the Christian Heath care center in Wyckoff. One of the highlights of her life was serving as a University English teacher in China, where she had the privilege of sharing the gospel through her lessons. Reflecting on her time in China Marie said, “I had the joy of seeing some of my students come to faith in Christ. How wonderful was that!” Marie was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church, which was very precious to her.
She loved to fellowship, serve the Lord with others, listen to, and study the Word of God. She also enjoyed her friends at Evergreen Court and the Fair Lawn Senior Center and often spoke of her friendships. While we grieve for Marie, we “do not grieve as those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep him.” I Thessalonians 4:1.
