Marie Carmela DiGuglielmo, née Parisi, passed away peacefully on November 8th, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born and raised in Jersey City, and as the youngest of 5 children, enjoyed the doting affection of her siblings - a sentiment that continued throughout their lives. To anyone ever graced by Marie’s radiant smile and superlative charm, it is unsurprising that her Ferris High School classmates voted for her to receive the distinction “Personality Plus.” As a young adult, she devotedly cared for her beloved mother, Theresa (née Mangano), until her passing. In 1970, Marie married her high school sweetheart, Michael, and they began a new life together at the Jersey Shore. In motherhood, Marie found her greatest joy. After residing in Toms River for many years, Marie and Michael relocated to Mays Landing, where they made wonderful new friends, participated in a variety of community activities, and collected beautiful travel memories. To those who knew Marie best, words fail to capture her essence. There was no better listener, no more earnest cheerleader, no more compassionate heart, no wiser counselor, and no braver warrior in the face of a challenge. She trusted her instincts, saw silver linings, and loved fiercely. Her warmth and sweetness will be missed beyond all telling. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael; her dear brother, Joseph; and her dear sisters, Anne and Donna. She is survived by her dear sister, Irene; her adoring children, daughter Theresa and son-in-law Dante; her dear godchild, Elizabeth; multiple loving nieces, nephews-in-law, great-nieces, great-nephews, other extended relatives, and friends. A private celebration of Marie's life is planned.
