Mario Torraca

Mario Torraca, 71, of Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Mario was born on February 5, 1938, in Gioi, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1969 with his wife, Maria (nee D'Angelo) and sons, Maurizio and Gianpiero. He worked for Western Electric and then Mueller Foods from which he retired after over 20 years of employment. He has served as a crossing guard for the city of Lyndhurst for the past 10 years. He is survived by his wife Maria, sons Maurizio, Gianpiero and daughter-in-law Tonya and grandchildren Anna and Marcello. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters in Italy, Americo, Anna, Italia and Carmela and a sister in Uruguay, Maria and is predeceased by brothers Vincenzo, Umberto and Antonio. Funeral Saturday at 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
