Martha Golda

Golda, Maria "Martha" of Rutherford passed away on Friday October 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born Martha Janeczek in Konstantynowka, Poland on September 10, 1926 to Ladislaus and Martha Janeczek. She met her husband John Golda in Germany and married 1948. After the war they immigrated to Brazil where they lived for 7 years and had their first daughter before immigrating to the US in 1955 which was a country she
loved and was proud to become a citizen. Martha and John lived in the Ironbound section of Newark before moving to Kearny and then later in life relocated to Rutherford. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Casimir's Church in Newark, NJ and was also active in the Holy Rosary Society.
Mrs. Golda retired from Continental Electric in Newark in 1991 and also worked for RCA in Harrison & Prudential in Newark.She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished friend and loved gatherings with family. She is predeceased by her husband John (2016). Survived by her children Christine (Peter) Pope, George (Diane) Golda and
Regina (Louis) Iannotti. She loved her grandchildren and was the cherished Babci of Corinn Pope, Julianna (Jason) Levine, Christopher, Jenifer and Thomas Golda. Funeral Wednesday 9am from Ippolito- Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst, NJ. Funeral mass Wednesday 10am St. Casimir's Church, Newark. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 3-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Casimir's Church, 164 Nichols St. Newark, NJ 07105.
