Mary Ann Scamberti-Toeltl

Mary Ann (nee Esposito) Scamberti-Toeltl, 80, of Rockaway, New Jersey formerly of Fairfield passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. Born and raised in Newark, NJ to Frank & Mary (nee Costa) Esposito. Beloved wife of the late Gennaro Scamberti and Matthias Toeltl. Loving mother of Gina & her husband Jeffrey Burian and Anthony & his wife Lisa Scamberti. Cherished grandmother of Anthony G., Cristina, and Joseph. Dear sister of Kathleen Masone. Adored aunt of Maria & her husband Joseph Cutruzzula. Mary Ann loved being a mom, grandmother and devoted friend, cooking for, and enjoying meals and music with her family and friends that she treated as family. She enjoyed weekends at the shore and bargain hunting at garage sales. She was an eternal optimist, and had the unique ability to make lemonade, no matter how many times life served her a plate of lemons. Some notable career highlights beginning as a teen volunteering at Newark's Colombus Hospital. She founded and operated for nearly a decade, the original Hollywood Deli in Fairfield with her husband Gennaro, and dear family friends. She served as human resources employee for Agfa in West Caldwell, and later Ridgefield Park. She was very involved in the Fairfield democratic party and served on the town council during the 80's. Funeral Thursday 10AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Interment East Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday 4 - 8PM.
