Mary Ellen O'Connor, 72, of Toms River, NJ formerly of Lyndhurst, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016. Beloved daughter of the late James J. & Ellen Marie (nee Pomidor) O'Connor. Loving sister of Gail McDonald and Chief James O'Connor. Dear sister-in-law of Jolyn O'Connor, the late Ronald McDonald, and Barbara O'Connor. Adored aunt of Jamie, James and Beth & her husband John. Cherished great-aunt of Shea & Kylie. Devoted niece of Loretta Rovito. Mary Ellen was a faithful friend and godmother of many lifelong friends. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Lyndhurst and St. Maxmilian Kolbe in Toms River. She had many roles at these churches including Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and CCD Teacher. She was an Executive Secretary at R. Markey & Sons in NYC for about 30 years before retiring in 2010. Funeral Saturday at 10 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11 AM Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. Cremation Private. Friends will be received Friday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
