Matilda F Kretzmer

Matilda "Tilda" Kretzmer, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2023, in her hometown of Jersey City, NJ. Born on April 15, 1945, in Jersey City, Tilda lived a life full of love, generosity, and memorable moments. Tilda will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Dawn Vagias and her husband Harry, her son Frederick Kretzmer, her grandson Zacharry Vagias and his wife Jeanne Anne, and her granddaughter Faith Vagias. She was the cherished sister of Angela and Alberta, and a dear relative to many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, all of whom greatly appreciated her warm heart, infectious laughter, and legendary fried rice. Tilda loved fishing and crabbing, spending sunny days by the water. In addition to her love for her family and the outdoors, Tilda gave her time volunteering at the local food pantry and thrift store, where she enjoyed helping others. Tilda left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. The loss of Tilda Kretzmer is deeply felt by her family and friends. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in the memories we shared, the love she gave, and the legacy she leaves behind. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Tilda. You will be dearly missed, but your memory will forever be a blessing.
