Mena Spina

Mena Spina (nee Petrella), 86, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.  Beloved wife of the late Peppino Spina.  Loving mother of Rina & her husband Chris Fiorenzi, Dario & his wife Marlo Spina, and Dalia Spina.  Cherished grandmother of Alexandra, Marcella, Dario Anthony, Julianna, Marlena and the late Krista.  Dear sister of Iolanda Biello and the late Lucia Bucci and Nicola Petrella.  Mrs. Spina was born in Italy and immigrated to Montreal at 18 years old before moving to New Jersey in her early 20's where she raised her family in Belleville and Fairfield.  She was proud to become a US citizen in the early 1970's.  She was the Co-founder of Rina Fashions in West New York, a manufacturer of woman's coats and suits.  Mrs. Spina was a great cook and a promoter of Italian fashion, cuisine and culture.  Family was most important to her, especially being a loving Mom and Nonna.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.  Friends will be received Wednesday 9-10:30AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield.  Funeral Mass Wednesday 11AM St. Thomas More R.C.
