Michael A. Kuzmiak, Jr.

Kuzmiak, Jr., Michael A., 71, of Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Loving father of Karen, Michael III & his wife Maria, Deborah, and Tamara & her husband Cox Thornton. Son of the late Frances & Michael A. Kuzmiak, Sr. Dear brother of Robert J. Kuzmiak & his wife Stephanie, Marilyn A. Kadian, widow of James Kadian, and the late Janice M. Kuzmiak. Cherished grandfather of Lauren & Meagan Potter, Joshua Wright, Niah Ibarra, Jacob Bowyer and Alina Thornton. Uncle of Donna Taylor and Robert Kuzmiak, Jr. Great uncle of Amanda Laudani and Zachary Taylor. Mr. Kuzmiak was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Rutherford. He earned a BSME from NJIT and an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He worked for the NJ Highway Dept for 2 years before joining the US Air Force in 1966 from which he retired in 1986. He then coached volleyball for several high schools, clubs and summer camps from 1987 to 2003. Funeral Monday at 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10 AM St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, Newark. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, New York. Friends will be received Saturday 2-6 PM and Sunday 2-6 PM. According to the wishes of the deceased please omit flowers.
