Michael E. Collins

Michael Earl Collins, 55, of Sandyston, NJ, lost his 8 year battle with cancer on March 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Jersey City on February 4, 1964 to Rosaleen (Turner) & Richard Collins. Michael was raised in Jersey City. He began his career in transportation working for Preston Trucking. He retired from New Jersey Department of Transportation as a Union Representative for IFPTE Local 195. He is survived by his loving wife Carmen (Cabrera) of Sandyston, NJ. His brother Patrick Earl Collins & spouse Barbara Collins of Jersey City. He was the favorite uncle to numerous nephew, nieces, grandnieces & nephew because of his playful nature & great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents Rosaleen & Richard Collins, his sisters Sharon Ellen Collins, Patricia Collins, & Colleen Collins, his brothers Richard E. Collins, Thomas E. Collins, & Harry E. Collins. Funeral Service Saturday 10 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
