Michael Francis Foerster of Lyndhurst, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in New York City on March 20, 1942, to Elizabeth and Frank Foerster. He spent his early years in Ohio, and eventually settled with his family in North Bergen where he forged life-long friendships and met his wife Georgette.

Before his retirement, Michael was a skilled Operating Engineer for Local 825, building significant structures such as Giant Stadium, Newark Airport and many of the buildings all around NJ.

Michael is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bob Holleron. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Georgette Foerster (nee Sassano), daughter Sandra Spokane and her husband Allen, son Michael and his wife Carla, brother Frank Foerster and his wife Sharon, sister Arlene Santos and her husband Al, brother-in-law Ralph and his wife Louise Sassano, sister-in-law Linda Salkiewicz and her husband Tommy, and his beloved grandchildren Marissa and Olivia Spokane, and Michael Antonio Foerster.

Michael also held a special place in his heart for his daughter-in-law’s family – Mari Reasco, Nico Palma, and Maria Isaza, as well as his many nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly.

Michael was a man of deep faith who had an unwavering love for his family. He found profound joy in spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories of his youthful escapades.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved watching TV and movies, especially science fiction. 

Michael always donated to those in need including St Jude’s and Shriners Hospital for children.

Michael will be remembered by many for his kind spirit, his zest for life, and the impact he left on those he met.
