Van Dorn - Schatz, Nancy Beatrice (nee Bohl), 85, of Paramus, New Jersey and formerly Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Donald James Van Dorn and William Schatz. Loving mother of Kenneth Van Dorn and his wife Lorraine of Nutley, Donald Steven Van Dorn and his wife Susan of Foxboro Massachusetts, and Lawrence Van Dorn of Teaneck. Adored grandmother of Kristin, Nicholas, Donald James, Andrew, Brian and Victoria and three great-granddaughters; Natalie, Madeline, and Adalyn. She was also the dear sister of the late Theodore Bohl.
Nancy was born in Passaic NJ, graduated from New Jersey State Teachers College, Newark and served the Wallington Public School System for many years as a 1st grade teacher at the Gavlak Elementary school. She was also a member of Recreation for Exceptional Children (REC) of Lyndhurst, Hands of North Arlington, and served as the Chaplain for the Eastern Star. Nancy was actively involved in the United Presbyterian Church of Lyndhurst and served in many capacities including as deacon, trustee, and Sunday School teacher.
Funeral at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Service 10AM United Presbyterian Church, Lyndhurst. Interment at Hillside Cemetery.
