Nancy Merse (nee Callinan), 79, of Edgewater, NJ, on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Beloved wife of former Councilman the late Edward A. Merse. Loving mother of Linda Merse of Edgewater, Edward "Sporty" & his wife Leslie (Peters) Merse of Bogota, and John & his wife Suzanne (O'Connor) Merse of Edgewater. Dear sister of John F. & his wife Suzann Callinan of Cape May County, William & his wife Helene Callinan of Stuart, FL, and sister-in-law and friend of Margaret Merse Kempson of Lincroft. Cherished grandmother of John Jr. of Winooski, VT, Michelle, Samantha, Edward & Jaclynn. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Merse was the current Mayor of Edgewater. She had been in elected office for over 30 years and is in the NJ Municipal Hall of Fame. Funeral Monday at 9 AM from the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee. Funeral Mass 10 AM Holy Rosary Church. Interment Madonna Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday 3-7 PM.
