Natverlal H. Thacker

Natverlal "Nat" Thacker, our loving father, grandfather, and amazing friend to all, passed away Thursday, September 3rd, 2015. Born in Uganda, East Africa on November 7, 1934. He was 80 years old. He was innovator in computer programming within the field of financial services and banking. He is survived by his two children, Monique Thacker of Edgewater, NJ, Dr. Sunil Thacker and wife Kelly Thacker of Monroe Township NJ and his three grandchildren Madison, Gavin, and Dahlia as well as five brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and many friends. He immigrated to England from Uganda during the tyrannical reign of Idi Amin. He worked to support his family and put himself through University of Brighton earning a degree in computer engineering. While at University of Brighton, he was the captain of his cricket team, and began his path to becoming a master level bridge player. He later worked to set up systems For Royal Bank of Canada, Bankers Trust, McKinsey & Co., and finally ending up at PaineWebber / UBS, where he spent most of his career until he retired in 2004. His innovations in the field of financial services are still utilized today within the industry. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him as he was quick to put a smile on everyone's faces. His kind and loving nature showed through in everything in which he took part. Family and friends are welcome to pay respects and celebrate this amazing man on Tuesday 4-6PM at Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 4pm.
