Norma D. Riker was a wonderful mother, wife, family member, and friend to many who she left behind when she passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 15, 2023. Norma was born and raised in Leonia, New Jersey to Frank & Mitzie DeLorenzo, meeting her future husband John A. Riker there when she was 19 years old and working in Manhattan. After marrying in 1953, she and John moved to Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, where they raised 4 children, Kimberly, Douglas, Wayne, and Gregg. She was a consummate homemaker, managing a busy house and staying very active in the community with Home and School Association, Town Club, swimming program, and notably with the Boonton Kiwanis First Aid Squad, where she was chief for many years. Norma, John, and family spent many years in Barnegat Light on the Jersey Shore, where she mastered grilling bluefish and entertaining family and friends. She learned to ski as an adult, painted, sailed the Caribbean with close friends, and hosted large family gatherings every holiday. Norma will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all who were lucky enough to know her. Friends will be received Friday, June 23rd, 9-11AM at the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee. Graveside service 11:15AM Madonna Cemetery.
