Pamela Degregorio

Pamela Ann DeGregorio (nee Dimeck), mother, grandmother, and empathetic companion to anyone in need, was relieved of all physical pain on July 26th, 2018. The daughter of Joseph and Sylvia Dimeck, she was blessed with 5 brothers and sisters: Joseph, Catherine, Dennis, Phyllis, and Peter. The importance of family was the foundation of a life spent ensuring that those closest to her had something to eat, somewhere to sleep, and someone to listen. For the last 35 years Pam devoted every breath to her son Nicholas. She provided him with a blueprint on how to live a life devoid of dolor, and brimming with joy, even when faced with daily obstacles; a blueprint Nicholas now tries to pass on to his children. While sister, mother, and friend were titles Pam wore proudly, being “Mama P” to her grandchildren Jackson and Grace was her greatest role. Jackson and Grace are enriched with their grandmothers unwavering determination and their hearts beat, just like hers, with warmth, compassion, and kindness. Besides family, Pams true love was dancing. She loved music, and she loved to play it loud. From Donna Summer to Bette Midler, the rhythm in her body and the song in her heart fueled the fire that provided warmth to everyone she loved. That fire however, will never be extinguished. Every episode of Star Trek, every vampire novel, and every dropped remote control followed by a one of kind expletive, will provide anyone who ever spent a single moment with Pam the comfort and happiness she wanted everyone else to feel.

Her friends and family are celebrating her life Monday July 30th, 4pm to 8pm, at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. They ask that you come, tell your favorite Pam story, and enjoy the music
