Patricia D'Aquila

Patricia D'Aquila, 82, of Fairfield, NJ, passed away due to complications of pneumonia on December 9, 2023. She was born and raised in Belleville NJ, daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Annunziata) DiGirolamo. She had a talent for singing and was a devout Catholic who attended mass regularly at Holy Family Church in Nutley.

Patricia graduated from Belleville High School and then earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Kean College. She spent the following 13 years educating and inspiring 1st grade students in the East Orange public school system.

After marrying Patrick Joseph D’Aquila(1935-2020), Patricia paused her career until the late 1980s so that she could be a fulltime mother to her 3 sons that she adored. Her devotion to her family was exemplified by the time, energy, and love she invested in her children, husband, grandchildren, and household for the last 50+ years.

Since the early 2000’s, Patricia worked at polling places on Election Day in Essex County. She took pride in contributing to the democratic process and fulfilling her civic duties.

She is survived by her 3 sons, who she was so proud of, Patrick (and his wife Quynn and grandchildren Ellie and Austin) of Arizona, Mark (and his wife Eden) of North Carolina, and Robert (and his wife Maggie and grandchildren Talon and Hunter) of Little Falls, NJ. She has spent the last 13 years loving every minute of being a grandmother to 4 wonderful and talented children. She was the dear sister of Edward DiGirolamo(1943-2018). Patricia is also survived by her dear sisters-In-law, Rosalie Raso and Linda D'Aquila, of Lyndhurst. Viewing will take place on Dec. 27 from 8-11AM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd. Fairfield NJ, followed by a 12PM Mass at St. Thomas More Church in Fairfield.
