Patricia Gambino

Patricia Gambino, 87, of Florham Park, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was born in 1936 to Rosario and Florence Gallo in Volturara Irpina, Italy, and immigrated with her family to the United States in 1950. Her family settled in Newark, N.J. where she met her husband, the late Salvatore Gambino. Together they ran a successful bakery on Summer Avenue specializing in Italian bread and pastries. She was proud of both her Italian heritage and her American citizenship, especially her right to vote, which she enthusiastically exercised on election day.

Patricia was an active member of various parish churches to which she belonged over the years. She was a devoted member of the Legion of Mary at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, where she moved after Salvatore’s death. Patricia was also fond of her family vacations to the Jersey Shore and Catskill Mountains, as well as several trips abroad, including to Italy, Switzerland, Canada, the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. Patricia was an excellent cook and loved having her family together for meals.

She is the beloved mother of Giacomo “Jack” Gambino and his wife Hannah Stewart, Lou Ann Marino and her husband Dennis, and Florence Millahn and her husband Kenneth. She is the adored grandmother of Matthew Millahn, Jason Millahn, Elena Gambino and her partner Katie McCarthy, Madeline Gambino and her husband Spencer Philpot, Joshua Marino, and Jonathan Marino, and the cherished great-grandmother of Callum Gambino Philpot and Graham Gambino Philpot. She is the dear sister of Amy Regan and her husband George, Mary Gallo, Anthony Gallo and his wife Emily, and the late James Gallo.

Funeral Wednesday 10AM from the Ippolito Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd. Fairfield, NJ. Funeral Mass 11:15AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, NJ. Burial to Follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2PM-4PM & 6PM-9PM at the funeral home.
