Paul William Sharry

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul William Sharry, born on May 18, 1953, in Jersey City, NJ to Peter Sharry and Jane O'Brien. Paul, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Montague, NJ.

Paul proudly served as the former Captain of the Carlstadt Fire Department, demonstrating unwavering dedication, leadership, and courage in protecting his community. He was also a member of the ARRL Ham Radio League, call sign N1PWS.

Paul was a devoted family man, leaving behind his beloved children, Jessica Anne Sharry & her husband Craig Kastner, Heather Marie Sharry, Paul William Sharry, II & his wife Lauren Sharry, and Tegan Louise & her husband John Gaffey. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Alexander James Sharry, William John Condit, Christopher Lee Dransfield, Jr., Weslee Aedyn Dransfield, Charlotte Lynn Gaffey, Josephine Mae Herrick, Tristan Sharry, Kellan Sharry, and Nicholas Gaffey. His bond with his family was unbreakable, and he took great pride in the joy and laughter they brought into his life.

Paul is also survived by his sister MaryJane Recchione, and his dear niece and nephew, Mary and Nicholas Recchione, and great-niece, Layla. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit within them. He is predeceased by his nephew, Peter John Recchione.

A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church on Saturday at 9:30 AM, allowing loved ones to come together in prayer and remembrance. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Paul's memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
