Peter J. Piszczatoski

May 6, 1925 — January 30, 2018

Peter J. Piszczatoski age 92, a disabled World War II Veteran stationed in Germany and France and lifelong resident of Lyndhurst for 72 years, died peacefully at his home in Lyndhurst with his daughter Maureen and her husband Bruce, with their son Robert, at his side. Peter was the youngest child of Piotr P. and Wadysawa (nee Grcka) Piszczatowski. Peter was fluent in the Polish language and worked for Sherwin Williams Newark plant as a Maintenance Millwright for 40 years. He is most proud of being the President of his Credit Union for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing his clarinet and saxophone, with inspiring all his children to play an instrument. Peter enjoyed building his home in Lyndhurst, as well as, a retirement farm home in Pennsylvania. With any spare time, Peter would excel at being a handyman around the house or working on his cars. Peter enjoyed traveling to various countries as well as many trips to other states. Later in life, Peter enjoyed trips to Atlantic City playing blackjack and the slot machines.
He is the loving father to 5 children: Peter S. Piszczatoski, Daniel J. Piszczatoski and his wife Lisha (nee Duda), Debra A. Nitto and her husband Al Nitto, Maureen G. Lyon (nee Piszczatoski) and her husband Bruce, and Thomas J. Piszczatoski and his late wife Donna (nee Low). Proud grandparent to 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are made by Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. Family and Friends will be received for visitation on Sunday from 5:00PM to 9:00PM and Monday at 9:00AM at Ippolito- Stellato Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church at 10:00AM and Full Military Honors graveside at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following.
