Reverend Joseph Szklarski

Szklarski, The Reverend Joseph , 78, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Father Szklarski was born in Poland where he studied Philosophy and then Theology in the Major Seminary. On June 24, 1962 he was ordained and ministered in Poland for 18 years. On July 6, 1980, he received the blessing of the Archbishop to serve the spiritual needs of those residing in the United States. He began his work at St. Casimir's Parish in Newark where he ministered for 13 years helping to preserve the identity of the Polish Roman Catholic Community. Since 1993, Father Joseph has faithfully and diligently ministered to the people the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Lyndhurst. There he was the Chaplin of the Friday Evening Polish School and led the Polish Rosary Society & Holy Name Society. Father Joseph celebrated his 50th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ in 2012. Beloved son of Szymon & Katarzyna Szklarski. Loving brother of Stanislaw & his wife Bozena Szklarski. Cherished uncle of Wioletta, Krystyna & Agnieszka Szklarski. Friends will be received Monday & Tuesday 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm at St. Michael's RC Church, Lyndhurst. Vigil Mass Tuesday 7:30PM, Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
