Richard Michael Ross, fondly known as Richie, passed away on July 21, 2023, in Hackensack, New Jersey. Born on March 10, 1953, in Jersey City, Richie lived a life full of passion, selflessness, and love that touched the lives of many.


Richie was the devoted husband of 40 years to Robin Ross (nee: Mitchell). Loving brother to Frederick (Roxanne), Henry (Kathy), Michael (Peggy), Allen (Vhikki), Johnny (Linda), and Anthony. He is survived by his sister, Carol Sandoval (Moises). He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Henry Ross, his brother Robert Ross,sister Elvira Sorace (Tommy), and sister in law Cookie Ross. Richie was also survived by his caring in-laws Roxanne (Vasco), Ruthanne (Joe), Rolinda (Victor), Robert (Sandra), and Raymond (Janis). He was a cherished friend to sister-in-laws Patricia Ross, Barbara Miller and Sharon.


Richie was a beloved uncle who played the role of a second father to many of his nieces and nephews, especially his nephews with whom he shared a special bond. His loving and selfless nature made him a pillar of support and a source of joy for his family.


Richie spent many years working as a truck driver for Yellow Transportation. He was a proud local teamster union member. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending his days fixing cars and houses with his brothers and nephews. He also loved going to breakfast on Saturday's with his nephews.


Richie was always known as the guy seen in town driving around in his yellow corvette and white hummer.


Richie was a passionate lover of animals, a trait he shared with his wife Robin. Together, they adopted many pets, providing them with a loving home. His family fondly referred to him as the "Lyndhurst Zoo" due to his dedication to animal welfare. Richie was also a true patriot, showing his unwavering support for the American military throughout his life.


Richie's life was marked by his loving nature, his selfless dedication to his family and friends, and his passionate commitment to the causes he believed in. His memory will forever be a beacon of love and kindness, illuminating the lives of those he has left behind. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
