Richard P. Venusti, of Cranbury formerly of Leonia, NJ on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Beloved Husband of Julia (nee Montefalcone) Venusti. Loving father of Lisa & her husband Alan Rosenbaum & Robert Venusti. Cherished grandfather of Lauren Rosenbaum. Mr. Venusti is a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Richard's Pharmacy in Palisades Park for 36 years. During his years there he started the Blood Bank in town and also was a memeber of the Palisades Park Lions. He was involved in many of their projects and started the first paper recycling program in Bergen County. Mr. Venusti was a member of the Bergen Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1986 and was instrumental in establishing a holiday lighting program. At Christmas he played Santa at his store as well as visiting local hospitals. After moving to Cranbury, Mr. Venusti was very active in his community, serving on the Board of Trustees as a treasurer and heading up the food drives. Funeral Thursday 10AM at the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ. Interment Madonna Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 3-8PM.
