Rita Marie Harmon Bianchetto, 80, of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, passed away on April 9, 2025 surrounded by loving family. Rita was born February 2, 1945 in New York City, the daughter of John and Rita Harmon.
Rita graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in New York City in 1962. Rita married Dennis Bianchetto on August 29, 1964 at St. Catherine of Genoa Church in New York City. Rita and Dennis have one son and two granddaughters and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
Rita worked with her brother-in-law, Robin, at PSI Electronics in Paramus, NJ for many years before retiring in 2010.
Rita had a heart of gold. She loved genealogy and investigating the story of her ancestors. Rita especially loved to share stories of her childhood with her granddaughters. She was vigilant about keeping in touch with an extended network of family, friends, and former work colleagues. She never met a stranger and would quickly learn the family stories of anyone she met while standing in a grocery store line or on the subway.
Rita is survived by her husband, Dennis; her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Melody (Charlottesville, VA); her grandchildren, Kathleen (Boston, MA) and Julia (Washington, DC); her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robin Carhart (Middletown, NY); her niece and nephew-in-law, Erin and Joe Simonetti (Suffern, NY); and her close friend, Leonora Castillo (Brooklyn, NY).
Preceding Rita in death were her parents, John and Rita Harmon; her brother, Bobby; and her mother- and father-in-law, Cesarina and Ezio Bianchetto.
The family will have a private memorial.
