Robert A Warmington

Warmington, Robert A., of Succasunna, on Sunday, January 13, 2008. Robert was born and raised in Morristown and moved to Newark where he served for 41 years with the Newark Police Department, retiring in 1989 at the rank of captain. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 58 years, Rhoda (nee Brand). Loving father of Robert Jr. and his wife Nancy, Harold Lee and his wife Angela and Pamela De Los Santos and her husband Antonio who took on the role of caregiver during his final months. Beloved grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of one. Dear brother of William Arthur and the late Joan Warmington. Robert served with the United States Navy during WWII. While with the Newark Police Department, he had many roles including motorcycle officer, walking patrol Sergeant, where he was known s "rapid Robert" for his quick pace, precinct commander and Captain in charge of the Newark Police Adademy. He was also a trumpet player with the Newark Police and Fire Band. Funeral Wednesday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, NJ. Funeral Mass 10AM at Notre Dame RC Church, North Caldwell. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
