Robert Daniel Collin

Robert Daniel Collin, 70, of Belleville, New Jersey formerly of Essex Fells passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Beloved father of Alexander Robert Collin & his fiance Shannon McGlynn and the late Steven Adam Collin. Former husband of Catherine Collin. Significant other of Vivian Castellon. Robert completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. He went on to the University of Guadalajara to complete his Medical Degree. Dr. Collin was fluent in both English and Spanish. Robert interned at Perth Amboy Medical Center and completed his Residency at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. Dedicated to the field of internal medicine, Robert was renowned as a compassionate and caring physician to all of his patients for over 40 years and was affiliated with Columbus Hospital, Clara Maas Hospital, and Saint Michaels Hospital. Being the passionate doctor that he was, Dr. Collins surviving son, Alex, holds near to him the precious memories of doing hospital rounds with his father all throughout his childhood. Robert loved fishing, traveling, and vacationing at Orange Lake Resort in Florida. He and his sons shared a common bond and love for cars, specifically Cadillacs. Friends and loved ones will be received on Tuesday, May 30th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home. The Funeral will begin on Wednesday, May 31st, at 9:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield following a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM at St. Aloysius RC Church. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills NJ 08015.
