Robert J. Ferrano

Robert J. Ferrano, of Fairfield, New Jersey, died peacefully on August 22, 2017 at St. Vincent's Nursing Home and Rehab in Cedar Grove, New Jersey where he spent the last seven years of his life. Robert is survived by his loving and cherished wife of 59 years, Annette (Marsico) Ferrano, devoted and loving father of Robert J. Ferrano, Jr., and Lisa Zeller and loving grandson J. R. Zeller.

Robert is predeceased by his parents James Ferrano & Margaret (McCollough) Ferrano. Three sisters, Pauline DiCienzo, Alice Caruso and Edna Gentile and two brothers, Frank Ferrano and James Ferrano, Jr.

Robert was born in Jersey City, New Jersey before moving to Matawan, New Jersey and later lived in Fairfield, New Jersey. He later went into the Army where he served as Corporal for 16 months in the Korean War. After serving in the Army he worked as a landscaper in his father's business and later went on to be a Machinist in Worthington Pump Corporation in East Orange, New Jersey where he retired after 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #176 in Matawan.

Bob lived solely for his family. He was always there helping with everything no matter what they needed. His grandson was the love of his life teaching him to play games, building all his toys, watching him get off the school bus everyday and spending countless hours with him. J.R. was his pride and joy. Bob was always the life of the party. He joked, laughed, danced and was happy in his own little world. Bob will never be forgotten for the love he showed for his family.

Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Saturday 9AM from the funeral home. Funeral Mass 10AM Notre Dame R.C. Church, North Caldwell. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
