Gnecco, Robert J., 90, of Lyndhurst, NJ on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Clara (nee Reale) Gnecco. Son of the late Louis Gnecco and Hattie Thorpe of Jersey City, NJ. Loving father of Claire & her husband Chester Plesnarski and Patricia & her husband Henry Saxon. Cherished grandfather of Robert Plesnarksi, Kara Saxon, & Kristi Saxon Ajaeb & her husband Andrew. Devoted great-grandfather of Matthew Henry Ajaeb. Dear brother of the late Mary Mason, Eva Jacoby, Lillian LaDeux, Louis, Arthur, & Harold Gnecco. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Mr. Gnecco was a manager at IOA Data Corp. in New York City for over 40 years. He is an Army Verteran of World War II serving in Europe and a member of AMVETS Post #20. Mr. Gnecco was a volunteer at the North Bergen Senior Citizen Nutrition Center for over 25 years. He was chairman of the Bergen County Activity & Nutrition Project Council. Mr. Gnecco was a founding member of the Lyndhurst AARP Chapter 4319 and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by AARP. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors & a parishioner of St. Michael's R.C. Church. Funeral Saturday at 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ. Funeral Mass 11AM St. Michael's R.C.
