Roger Paul Myette

Roger Paul Myette, Jr. of New York passed away at 72 in the early hours of February 14th. Paul was the son of the late Roger P. Myette and Nancy Copell Myette. Paul is survived by his daughters, Rose Myette and husband, Tyrone Samuel, of New York and Lenox Myette of Los Angeles, and their mother, Nancy Rakoczy. Paul is also survived by his siblings, Pamela Myette and partner, Barbara Livermon, of Plymouth, MA, Peter Myette and wife, Sandra Rivera, of New York, and Gerard Myette of Sarasota, FL, as well as his nephew, Patryk Myette, of Cambridge, MA. Paul was predeceased by his stepmother, Margaret Perini Myette.

Born in Boston, Paul attended St. Sebastian's School, graduating as valedictorian in 1970, where he was a fierce competitor on the basketball court, playing the game he loved with flair and finesse. He graduated from Harvard College cum laude with an AB in history in 1974. Paul entered the New York CPA training program of Arthur Young & Co. in 1975, and went on to excel in tax accounting and strategy at Rheingold Breweries, Chase Bank, Omnicom Group, Johnson & Higgins, and Marsh McLennan. In his spare time, Paul followed the Boston Celtics, participated in community theatre at St. Paul's near Lincoln Center, wrote humorous songs, and crewed for and acted in no-budget movies shot on the streets of New York. As sources of never-ending joy, Paul's daughters have engaged his performative avocations professionally, pursuing careers that tap a wide array of talents.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan on Friday, March 21st at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to NAMI or another service organization of your choice.
