Ruth Elizabeth Thomson

Ruth Elizabeth Thomson (nee Pennington), 91, died peacefully on October 25, 2013. A resident of Lyndhurst, NJ for the past 63 years, Ruth was born in Jersey City, the daughter of George Denman & Agnes Marie Pennington. Beloved wife of 68 years of the late William Thomson. Loving mother of Lenore & her husband Thomas Bentz and Dennis & his wife Debbie Thomson. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer & her husband Thomas Schmidt, Jeanette, Brianna, Shaun & Kelly Thomson. Adored great-grandmother of Jenna Pittro, Tommy & Jessica Schmidt. Ruth graduated from Snyder High School in Jersey City, was a homemaker, and worked as a bookkeeper for her son's business. She loved animals, the ocean and Frank Sinatra and was avidly involved in her church, St. Michael the Archangel in Lyndhurst. She will be remembered by many relatives and friends for her friendly and caring way. Funeral Wednesday at 10 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11 AM St. Michael's R.C. Church, Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Private cremation. Friends will be received Tuesday 5-9 PM.
