It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth Neuhauser, who left this world peacefully on April 10, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 7, 1941, in New Jersey, Ruth was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst and lived a vibrant life that touched the hearts of many.
Ruth was known for her warm spirit, unwavering kindness, and generous heart. She was a beloved active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford. She served as an Elder and a Deacon, chairing multiple committees and serving as the Clerk of Session for many years. For over a decade, Ruth served home communion to those unable to attend church, deeply believing in the rich theology of an open table at the Lord's Supper where all are welcome. Ruth had a deep passion for children's ministry and loved Jesus, which was showcased by her commitment to doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with her God.
Ruth is survived by her cousins, Elizabeth Paladino & her husband John with their two daughters, Lauren and Allison, Janet Berry & her husband Glenn with their daughter Stephanie & her husband Jason, Christopher Payne & his wife Teri with their children Alexander and Christopher, and Jimmy Payne & his wife Terry.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM. This will be followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM, during which we will share memories and honor the remarkable life she led. Burial, to follow, at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, where Ruth will be laid to rest.
