Sabina (Di Salvo) Morsella, born in Casale, Provence of Campobasso (Molise) Italy, immigrated to the United States with her family in 1955. They settled first in Jersey City, NJ then in Dayton, Ohio where Sabina worked part-time at a local hospital cafeteria while attending night school to learn to read and write English. In 1961 she returned to Italy and married her late husband, Antonio Morsella. They both returned to the U.S. soon after to start their family in New Jersey.
Sabina touched many with her love for cooking and entertaining. She made the most unforgettable pizza that became somewhat well known throughout our families and friends. Sabina loved summers spent at their summer home in Tuckerton, New Jersey where she loved cooking the fresh fish and crabs we caught off our boat. She loved to swim in the lagoon - even though she didn’t quite know how.
Sabina had the incredible ability to remember and recall fascinating stories of past generations of families (and the nicknames of those families) she knew growing up in her small town in Italy. She not only had a great love for her family, but also for animals, music, dancing, and yes - Elvis Presley, too.
Sabina and Antonio are survived by their children, Pasqualino Morsella and daughter Patrizia Petrillo, along with their spouses, Ann Morsella and Patrick Petrillo. As well as their beloved Granddaughters, Carina and Tina Petrillo.
